COP27 Video of the Week: “Building with Nature for Climate Resilience”

This side event underscores that ice loss and subsequent sea level rise from polar ice sheets pose a far-reaching and urgent threat to communities across the world. In this session, an international team of academics, policy makers, businesses and local people come together to discuss nature-based solutions that provide vulnerable regions with costal defenses while honoring local heritage. Dr. Maged Ali, University of Essex (UOE) Business School, moderated this event. Speakers include Dr. Michael Steinke, Marine Biology UOE; John Akker, West Mersea Town Council; Dr. Boroka Bo, Sociology UOE; Dr. Bethan Greenwood, Life Sciences UOE; and Steph Nissen, Colchester City Council.
