人类排放加剧了南极洲创纪录的热浪

在过去的一个世纪里,南极半岛夏季的长期变暖使南极热浪的严重程度增加了25%,这主要是人类排放增加的结果。2020 年 2 月,南极半岛经历了南极洲西部有记录以来最强烈的一次热浪,埃斯佩兰萨基地的气温达到了前所未有的 18.3°C。一个高压系统将来自太平洋的暖湿气流推向南极半岛上空,引发了这次热浪。这些气流迅速穿过山脉,进一步加剧了当地的变暖。这项研究强调,仅凭空气环流的变化无法解释这种热浪期间气温极度升高的原因。自 20 世纪 50 年代以来,不断上升的全球气温使南极洲出现长达一周的强烈热浪(如 2020 年 2 月观测到的热浪)的可能性增加了十倍。这些发现表明,人类活动加剧了南极洲极端气温和天气的严重程度。.
